PRIVACY RULES
Thank you for your interest in our gallery. Data protection is of particular importance to the management of ‘pilote’. The website www.pilote-contemporary.com is hosted by the Internet service provider strato. According to the provider, server locations are in Europe and in the USA.
A use of the website www.pilote-contemporary.com is basically possible without the indication of personal data. Which personal data is collected when using this – as well as any other website – e.g. on the servers of the hoster is shown in the paragraph ‘Server log-files’.
Transmission of personal data
Personal data that you send to the studio by e-mail will be stored for processing the request and in the case, that follow-up questions arise. Your personal data will be stored and processed in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. Your personal data will only be used to the extent and for the purpose for which you have given your consent to the operator. They will not be passed on to third parties.
Information about which of your personal data is stored by the operator and for which use you have given your consent to the operator is available upon request by post or by e-mail. You can change or revoke your consent to the future use of your personal data at any time by post or e-mail.
If you revoke the use of your personal data, it will be completely deleted. A later reactivation is then no longer possible.
Security
To make data transfer as secure as possible, this website uses SSL encryption. However, electronic communication can never be completely secure. All data and information that you access and/or transmit online may be obtained illegally by third parties. We cannot assume any responsibility or liability for the disclosure of information due to errors and/or illegal access during data transmission by third parties. You can therefore always transmit your messages and personal data to us on alternative ways, e.g. by telephone or by post.
Server log-files
Every time a user accesses a page from the offer www.pilote-contemporary.com and every time a file is called up, the Internet service provider stores data about this process in the server log-files.
There can be captured:
– the page from which the file was requested
– the file name of the retrieved file
– the date and time of retrieval
– the amount of data transferred
– the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
– the name of the web browser that was used
– the IP address of the requesting device
– the requesting provider
– the operating system of the requesting device
– and other similar information to protect against attacks on the provider’s systems.
This information is needed to correctly deliver the contents of this website to you, to ensure the security of the information technology system and the technology of the provider and to comply with the obligation to provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for criminal prosecution in the event of a cyber attack.
These data are stored on the provider’s server and used only anonymously for statistical purposes about the use of the website. It is not possible to draw conclusions about individual persons and their usage behaviour. A passing on to third parties, also in excerpts, does not take place. The legal obligation to competent authorities to subsequently check or have this data checked is reserved if concrete indications of illegal use become known.
E-Mail-Newsletter
As part of this website, it is possible to register for the receipt of an e-mail newsletter from the provider. This newsletter is sent via the service provider Mailchimp. The personal details that are sent to Mailchimp when ordering the newsletter can be found in the entry form for registering to receive the newsletter.
In principle, the e-mail newsletter can only be sent if the person registering has given a valid e-mail address and has registered himself explicitly for sending out the newsletter. An e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address given during registration. This confirmation e-mail is used to check and confirm that the owner of the e-mail address has actually authorized the receipt of the newsletter (Double-Opt-In).
When registering for the newsletter, the IP address of the computer system used by the person concerned at the time of registration and the date and time of registration are also stored.
The collection of this data is necessary, among other things, in order to be able to trace any misuse of the e-mail address at a later point in time and to fulfil the documentation and information obligation towards the person concerned.
The personal data collected when registering for the e-mail newsletter will be used exclusively for sending the e-mail newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. In addition, registered recipients of the e-mail newsletter can also be contacted by personal e-mail if this is necessary for the operation of the newsletter service or for registration in this respect.
Consent to the storage and use of personal data can also be revoked at any time via an appropriate link contained in each newsletter.
Newsletter tracking
The studio’s newsletters sent in HTML format contain so-called tracking pixels. A pixel-code is an embedded miniature graphic that makes it possible to create a log file recording for statistical evaluations of the success or failure of sending an e-mail newsletter. For example, you can check whether the e-mail newsletter was delivered, whether the e-mail address still exists actively, whether and when the e-mail newsletter was opened and which links in the e-mail newsletter were called.
These personal data will also not be passed on to third parties. The consent to the storage and use of personal data can be revoked at any time via a corresponding link contained in each newsletter.
Profiling and automated decision making
Pilote does not use automated decision making and/or profiling procedures.
Independent deletion of personal data
Personal data will only be stored for the period of time necessary to achieve the storage purpose. If the purpose of storage ceases to apply or a legally prescribed storage period expires, the personal data will be deleted independently.
Your rights
German and European data protection law gives you a variety of rights with regard to your personal data. In particular, you have at any time the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data relating to you is being processed, to obtain information on what personal data is being stored and processed, for what purposes the data is being used and, if possible, the planned duration for which the personal data is stored or, if this is not possible, the criteria for determining this duration. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of personal data concerning you and to restrict its use or to object to its use altogether. You may request information about the origin of personal data and request that the personal data concerning you be provided in a structured, common and machine-readable format. You are then free to transfer this data to another person responsible. You can even request that we transfer your personal data directly to another person responsible – insofar as this is technically feasible and provided that the rights and freedoms of other persons are not affected by this.
And of course, you can complain to the relevant supervisory authority. Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
